The 8th of May is the 80th anniversary of VE Day. We feel it’s a significant day to celebrate, after all, our lovely shop has seen locals through two world wars!
Huttons Chocolates shop was established in 1901 and features in the cherished memories of many. Bygone days where the sweet aroma of toffee and chocolate drifted around the Victorian arcade. We have it on good authority that the dairy toffee and butter cream toffee were good enough to spend sugar rations on!
Children from a previous time, now visit with their own children and grandchildren to share their memories and experience of visiting the chocolate shop. It’s a joy to know that our shop is a part of the local history, and a part of so many people’s lives, then and now.
This significant day brings perspective, and we’re grateful. As a tribute to those who fought for freedom, we’ve created a special handcrafted chocolate bar. A celebratory bar which is not only delicious, but will serve as a thank you. We promise to donate 25% of sales to Help For Heroes. An organisation who supports veterans and their families.
